BRISBANE’S TOP HAIR SALONS

Posted in Hair on May 9, 2017 by

Word of mouth is everything in the beauty industry.

And if it’s based on buzz, these Brisbane salons come out on top every time.

With loyal and vocal clientele vouching for them on social media, proof of their impressive service and skills – we’d suggest you book yourself in for a visit, pronto.

15 Adelaide St, Brisbane City QLD 4000 | (07) 3229 0816

With several accolades to their name including Salon Of The Year 2016 at the Australian Hair Industry Awards and Hair Expo, Elysium Hair Brisbane is undeniably the hottest reservation in town for both men and women. That’s right ladies, bring your partners. The salon has a dedicated section for male grooming stocked with all the pomades, gels and clays your guy could ever want. The spacious fit-out also includes a section for makeup including lash extensions, and a ‘tool bar’ featuring a wall of lust-worthy ghds. It’s as dreamy as it sounds.

With all the best brands under one roof (think Oribe, Cloud Nine, Kevin.Murphy, American Crew and Cloud Nine) Rixon Hair is the place to go for an immersive and opulent in haircare experience. Try one of the more exxy brands before you buy. Brad Rixon, a co-owner of the salon is a third generation hairdresser who’s worked under tutelage of some of Australia’s best and his tight-knit team are as talented and ambitious as they come. Their speciality? Colour and styles that are modern and understated.

67/39 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe QLD 4006 | (07) 3172 7995

Love the hair you see in fashion shoots and backstage? Mia Doak, owner and director of The Mia Collective has had a hand in many of these. She’ll give you the kind of hair worth sharing on social media, and her own Instagram is brimming with the kind of cool-girl waves and dimensional colour you can expect. Doak is a beautiful soul and a triple threat; a master of cut, colour and style and her quaint little terrace salon in Teneriffe, beside the Brisbane River, is still something of secret but we suspect not for too long.

3/27 Discovery Dr, North Lakes QLD 4509 | (07) 3880 6808

Salon owner Samantha Jones actually started out working in the airline industry, before studying nails and beauty and undertaking a hairdressing apprenticeship. Because of this untraditional pathway into her chosen career, Jones approach is a little different. Her salon (this one’s her fourth) values customer relationships and understands it’s not just a hair appointment. In return, many of her happy customers rave about her team’s outstanding service. Jones specialty is colour, so if you need a refresh, hit up her team next time you’re in North Lakes.

B’ME HAIR

4-9 Discovery Drive, North Lakes QLD 4509 | (07) 3482 4811

When we posted our callout on social media for Brisbane’s Top Hair Salon, one of the names that kept coming up was B’ME Hair in North Lakes. The newly opened salon is fast-gaining popularity for colour that departs from your regular blonde and brown shades. This isn’t salon owner Marie Nieuwoudt’s first business either, she had another thriving salon in the UK, but brings her colour expertise and years of experience to B’Me Hair.

BLOW SALON

Shop 5a, 3 Montpelier Road, Newstead QLD 4006 | (07) 3257 2569

It’s all in the details at uber cool salon, Blow. From the full-length black leather massage chairs that work on your back while you’re getting your hair washed to the endless hot beverages and TV screens that allow you to completely zone out, Blow Salon knows R&R and wants to make sure your appointment is a break in the day, not another thing you have to worry about while you’re in the chair. The respectable team that work here may induce hair envy – exactly what you want from your hair stylists.
