KISS GOODBYE TO MS

Posted in Lips, Makeup on May 29, 2015 by

Every day this month, my dear friend Sara Donaldson (the beauty and brains behind fashion blog, Harper & Harley) has been sharing her favourite red lip shades to support MS Research Australia’s annual Kiss Goodbye to MS campaign.

If you’re a fan of Harper & Harley (if you’re not, you really should be), you’ll know that Sara’s mother, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 11 years ago, is the reason Sara is embarking on this worthy cause to help raise awareness, start the conversation about what exactly MS is and, more importantly, to raise funds to help find a cure.

Did you know? MS is a chronic disease that affects 23, 000 Australians via the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves). The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS can not be predicted, there is no known cause and currently no cure. To that end, MS affects three times as many women as men, with the average age of diagnosis being 30-years-old.

As we’re coming up to the tail end of the month, I’m making a last minute attempt to help spread the word for Sara. Here, I’m pictured wearing MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Russian Red, which is the perfect blue-based red (it even makes your teeth appear whiter).

You can donate to Sara’s fundraising page through her MS donation page, and please join me in spreading the love by posting your own red lip selfie before June 1 with the hashtag #kissgoodbyetoMS.
