Shrouded in darkness at a cavernous Corinthian-lined post office, Prabal Gurung unveiled his S/S 15 collection in New York – adding shoes to his growing repertoire.

“Each season we aim to create looks that will inspire women across the globe to express their own style,” says Gurung. “The ultimate goal is to make women feel both confident and beautiful.”

Backstage – in a dimly lit space – Paul Hanlon, Hair Stylist for TRESemmé got to work on the models. “The hair for Prabal Gurung was inspired by strong, athletic and modern women,” he says. “Prabal and I envisaged a woman who had just come from the gym and was walking down the street with a sweaty ponytail, which she had just raked back using her fingers.” Gurung adds, “The structure of the ponytail gives it an edge that complements the multi-layered sports inspired collection.”

1. Apply a generous amount of TRESemmé Extra Control Styling Mousse to roots, section by section, ensuring full coverage by working upwards from the nape of the neck up to the parting.

2. Comb strands with a wide tooth comb to create separation and run your fingers to accentuate the texture further. Leave mousse to dry naturally – this will give extra hold and add layers to the look.

3. Create a centre part using your fingers and pull hair back to create a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Secure tightly with a hair elastic.

4.  Smooth a small amount of TRESemmé Liquid Gold Anti-Frizz Perfecting Treatment onto the tail of the ponytail and twist it into a loose knot. Blast with a hair dryer to achieve natural movement in the ends then unravel.
