As a two-time Gritty Pretty Magazine cover girl and beauty brand founder, Kerr felt like an obvious choice to kick off GP’s newest platform. Best known for her skincare brand, KORA Organics, as well as her days walking the runway for Victoria’s Secret and some of the world’s top designers, Kerr reveals to Gritty Pretty that glamour wasn’t always a priority for the Gunnedah-native. “Growing up I was such a free spirit and just loved being outside and in nature,” she says of her childhood. “I knew that I had such a connection to nature and just loved the freedom that it brought.”

It was this love of nature that also played a key role in Kerr’s discovery of crystals, which she now uses to filter all KORA Organics products through. Rose quartz, in particular, was a personal touch Kerr wanted to include to help spread positivity and self-love, something we could all do with a little more of.

The now 11-year-old business, or as Kerr says, “my baby girl – I have three boys, but KORA is my baby girl”, KORA Organics has grown exponentially since the idea was born in 2006. With a team of around 40, Kerr spoke candidly about learning to delegate and trust the people she had employed. “We’re like a family and we understand that it is so much more than a business. We really do feel that we are wholeheartedly helping people feel better about themselves.”

And with two families (one business and one personal), it’s no wonder Kerr is always glowing. Now mother to three boys – Flynn, 9, Hart, 2, and Myles, six months – the model is adamant about ensuring they know about their Australian heritage. “Flynn loves Vegemite on toast, and so does Hart! They’re proud and they know that they’re Australian.” As for what she’s looking forward to most in 2020? Watching her boys grow, learn and play, of course.
