A new CHANEL makeup collection marks the stylish beginning of a new season.

This coming spring, beauty blooms with a captivating ensemble entitled Rêverie Parisienne, inspired by the gardens of Paris. The star of the collection is undeniably CHANEL Jardin de Chanel – a two-tone pink blush embossed with a camellia – Coco Chanel’s favourite flower.

Generally, there’s an unwritten rule when it comes to seasonal colour palettes – your makeup and clothes should reflect the colour-scape of the season you’re in: bright pinks and reds when flowers are in bloom; and deep mauves and browns when leaves are crunching underfoot.

In a bid to paint a brighter future, our tip for truly embracing coloured cosmetics is simple: changing perspective. The new attitude toward super bright shades: they’re not shocking.

Fortunately, thanks to new formulas and crisper colours, bold brights have become easier to use and prettier to wear. Vibrant corals lend balance to satiny shades of pink, creating an enchanting spectrum of shades that range from delicate to deep.

Scared by colour? Lean into the look gently with just magenta lips thanks to CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet in La Romanesque.

Prefer to take it up a notch? Dab concealer over your lips to allow the true colour of the lipstick to show up. To intensify the lipstick even more, blot and reapply twice.

Sure, you could easily breeze through the rest of summer with the same sheer balm and nude gloss you always wear. Or you could throw caution to the wind and try one of the poppy products from this sparkling new collection.

After all, life is too short. Have fun with makeup.
