In the latest video of CHANEL Beauty Talks series, model-offspring Lily-Rose Depp reveals her most practical tip for wearing lacquered lip colour.

And it’s actually quite profesh: “Any bright colours can work if you do a muted line after so you have the shape that you like,” she shares. That’s a hack if we’ve ever heard one; colour first and line after so you have a guide, and leave lip-lining free-hand to the experts.

Not bad for the 17-year-old face of CHANEL (we feel old), who proves she’s the quintessential beauty girl as she talks about how her mum (French model and singer, Vanessa Paradis) presented her with a bag full of the brand’s luxe beauty loot for her 12th birthday – and how, growing up, she was the official makeup artist for her friends.

Admittedly aware that lip gloss has a reputation for being trés high maintenance, Depp is quick to declare CHANEL’s new Rouge Coco Gloss something different.

“That’s what makes a lot of people shy away from lip gloss is that they think it’s sticky. But this one is silky and comfortable, almost like a… balm,” she adds.

CHANEL Global Creative Makeup Artist, Lucia Pica is also on-hand, wearing a first-class merlot red (Try: Shade 766 Charactère). While Depp-Rose says her aesthetic is “a nice peachy-nude. It’s kind of my everyday, it’s my thing” (Try: Shade 722 – Noce Moscata).

Previous videos in the enlightening series have seen fellow CHANEL ambassadors, Gisele Bündchen, Keira Knightley and Kristen Stewart feature candid conversations with Pica, sharing personal beauty tricks and secrets. It’s kind of like Carpool Karaoke (minus the singing, so nothing like Carpool Karaoke actually) but for beauty nerds.
