Whilst ROHR Remedy’s natural skincare products are made in our sister country, New Zealand, the brand celebrates Indigenous Australian people – with all ingredients extracted from Australian bushland. Combining the power of natural medicine with scientifically proven pharmaceutical formulas, the brand nails it in crafting an ethical, soothing and natural range, that will leave skin feeling visibly improved. Oh, the packaging is on point. Our pick? The Boab & Rosehip with Vitamin E Oil. Baob oil comes from the baobab tree which blooms once a year, often at night, and is native to Australia, Africa, and Madagascar. It’s acclaimed for its ability to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, reduce scarring and help ease stretch marks. It is also marvellous for moisturising dry, brittle hair. We likey.
With their signature ingredient argan oil, Atom are a a socially responsible beauty company, that have developed effective products that actually work. The Australian-owned company is a conscious beauty player, with no testing on animals, suitable for sensitive skin and free of all sorts of nasties. The minimal two product range – the Ghassoul Clay Mask and 100% Moroccan Argan Oil – embrace the cosmetic and therapeutic value of argan oil which is sourced straight from Morocco. Perfect for the ethical consumer, who is looking for a range that rejuvenates both skin and hair.
Put black, white and a sexy font into the mix and you have us at hellooooo. Well, at least new beauty brand Musq did. The extensive range, which consists of cosmetics (shea butter and jojoba-infused foundation, anyone?), makeup brushes, skincare and candles, proves this locals-only brand is successfully going up against the big guns. Our top choice, though, is the Face & Body Exfoliant. A revitalising and gentle physical exfoliant, it’s enriched with rose, rice and clay to leave your complexion feeling smooth and supple with a radiant glow.
We are not vain but we are suckers for pretty packaging — and it’s just an added bonus when the products happen to work a treat. Enter DnA Elements. If anyone knows good skincare it’s pharmacist Danielle Glover and designer Amanda Muir. Realising there was a gap in the skincare market for certified organic products that are packaged up beautifully, the duo created a simple range that embraces the power of natural ingredients —packed with vitamins, fatty acids and anti-oxidants the products will soothe, hydrate and kick ageing in the butt. The Antioxidant Body Oil harnesses green tea and pomegranate oil to nourish, tone and rehydrate while the French White Clay Mask is perfect for all skin types as it gently cleanses and exfoliates while helping to stimulate circulation to the skin. Did we mention the bottles look cute? Oh, we did? OK, great… Just checking.
